James Clarke is Deputy Head of the Office of Unconventional Gas and Oil, in the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), where he leads on regulatory and EU matters. He previously worked as a strategic policy adviser on a number of areas, including Electricity Market Reform and retail market tariffs. Prior to joining DECC in 2010, he worked in corporate governance and socially responsible investment research, including as an analyst in the investment banking arm of HSBC.
Simon has been a partner in the Commercial Group at Bird & Bird since 2005. He is based in London. Simon has extensive experience in large technology projects, including supplier & programme change management and information security. His interests also include the commercial and legal problems that occur with the advent of disruptive technologies, such as unconventional gas and genomic technologies.
