An international authority in environmental engineering and risk, Simon has built a prominent career through appointments in academia, consulting and government. An Imperial-trained PhD engineer, Simon’s research on risk and resource management is widely cited in the international journals. He edits the American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ series on sustainable engineering and Science of the Total Environment, and has been funded for the last 10 years by the US Water Research Foundation, EPSRC and Defra, among others.
