Christian Besson graduated with a PhD in Physics from Princeton University.After a 27 years career in technology development and management with Schlumberger, the leading international oil field services company, for the last 5 years he has been a senior analyst at the International Energy Agency, contributing primarily to the fossil fuel supply parts of the yearly World Energy Outlook publication. He has been one of the lead authors of the IEA publication "Golden Rules for a Golden Age of Gas", dedicated in large part to shale gas. He also works for EUROGIA2020, the low-carbon energy technologies European cluster and is an honorary professor at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
