Jonathan Shortis is Vice President – Energy, EMEA, a position he has held since the start of 2013. Within his current role, Jonathan is responsible for leading the growth agenda for DHL's Global Energy Sector across EMEA. Key aspects of this role include sales leadership, leading major transformational growth projects, supporting the regional and country teams with the development of their energy strategies and major project opportunities. Jonathan is also responsible for managing key global accounts and account relationships. Prior to this role, Jonathan led Energy Sector development for DHL Supply Chain, globally and held an Executive position as Business Development Director for the Industrial Sector of DHL Supply Chain across UK & Ireland, Middle East & Africa. In this role, he was heavily engaged in driving and managing innovative projects with Network Rail (UK rail maintenance supply chain), the London 2012 Olympics (construction logistics) and Crossrail (supply chain design). In addition, Jonathan has worked on the formulation and delivery of the company’s health and safety policy, reducing its injury frequency rate by more than fifty per cent in less than two years and creating a foundation for future performance improvement and development of DHL’s Environmental Compliance & Solutions business. Before joining DHL Supply Chain in 2000, Jonathan was affiliated with several companies such as BP Oil and ICI Acrylics, where he held diverse roles in engineering, plant management, product management, strategic planning, and supply chain management. He has sat on a number of industry bodies and committees, including Transport for London’s Construction Logistics Advisory Board, the Freight Transport Association’s Olympics Board and the Olympic Development Agency’s CEO Board.
