Stuart Haszeldine trained as a geologist, and has over 35 years research and industry experience in energy and environment. He has innovated new approaches to oil and gas extraction, radioactive waste disposal, biochar in soils, and now shale hydrocarbons. He is the world’s first Professor of carbon capture and storage, his research is multi-disciplinary, focused on balancing carbon extraction with secure storage and monitoring. He has been adviser to both Westminster and Scottish Governments.
